What have octinoxate, diazolidinyl urea, PABA esters, SLS and parabens all got in common? They are the usual run of the mill ingredients which you may find in the so called best collagen firming lotions. You might think that there is nothing so shocking about that until you start delving a little deeper.
For starters, try paying a visit to the Environmental Working Group site where you find thousands of chemicals used in personal care products listed and placed on a hazard scale of 1 to 10. If any ingredients such as the ones above are getting a score of 7 and upwards, then they are very risky indeed and they should not be there at all. Basically they are linked to allergies, endocrine disturbances and are highly toxic. They are also capable of mutating mammalian cells.
So what should the best collagen firming lotions contain which will not do us more harm than good? Out with the parabens, fragrances, urea, alcohols and pure hydrolyzed collagen. The latter is usually derived from cowhide and processed using rather harsh acids which is the so called hydrolyzation process. It cannot even get through our skin pores because of its molecular structure.
What we really need in a firming lotion worthy of the name are ingredients which can regenerate collagen and which are perfectly bio available to our skin.

The best one I know of is called Xtend –TK which is derived from sheep wool and is gently processed. Its molecular structure is ideal for our skin and it can get down to the dermis where our collagen resides. This means that it can really get our collagen going again and that is what is going to make the difference in any firming lotion.
Add to that other remarkable ingredients such as wakame, and nano lipobelle together with moisturizers such as avocado oil and you have a winning formula. The great thing about all this is that there are no harmful chemicals in this mix at all, making it one of the safest products in the world!
