  • Chemical Peeling At Home – Is This A Good Idea?

  • Why would you bother with chemical peeling at home?  The first reason is that it is much cheaper and you can do it when you like in your own comfortable surroundings and that really does make a difference. The third reason is that you can decide which ingredients suit you best and take it from there.

    Why bother with this at all?  The main reason people go in for chemical peeling at home is to remove the following blemishes form the skin which are causing us some embarrassment or concern. The main ones are:-

    • Acne
    • Blemishes
    • Age spots or liver spots
    • Blotches
    • Discolorations

    What does a chemical peel actually do?  It uses a mild acid to burn off the outer dirty skin which is full of dead skin cells. This process is useful in that it can help the newer skin to absorb more moisture and become better hydrated. The old dead skin tends to form a keratin layer and this can often be an obstacle when applying moisturizing creams and so on.  The result of the peel is usually a much fresher and newer layer of skin.

    Instead of going for a chemical peel which may leave some scarring, I want to suggest that the whole process can be replaced by using natural ingredients in a face cream. This removes any risk and the results in the long term are excellent and you are perfectly safe. There is no messy preparation or clearing up to do.

    The best skin lightener and peeler is an ingredient which comes from the nutgrass plant. This is called extrapone nutgrass. It is used extensively in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine.

    It can do the job just as well as a chemical peel over time and you will see that the skin becomes lighter and fresher. There is a gradual disappearance of all the age spots and the blemishes too. Now that saves you a lot of time in having to put on some lemon juice on the age spots several times a day. That beats chemical peeling at home any day!.
