If you think that cheap skin care products are to be avoided at all costs, think again! The fact is that price is not a useful indicator at all. Consider the following case where the consumer magazine ‘Which?’ in the UKdiscovered that the expensive skin care products were not as effective as the much cheaper ones. So, cheap does not necessarily mean a poor product.
The secret of course is the quality of the ingredients and whether they are using safe, natural ingredients and have reduced the quantity of chemicals and synthetics to an absolute minimum. That is really the key getting the best product on the market.
Price though, can sometimes be an indicator of quality. For example, the company I am recommending in this blog is very clear about this. It has no price cutting at all simply because it has used most of its budget on research into the best possible natural ingredients available to-day.
It spends its money wisely and well. The amount of publicity and the glossy testimonials are kept to a minimum as you will see, if you visit their site below.
Sometimes, people are fooled by packaging as well. Actually, companies now know that the glossy and luxurious look will actually sell the product more than the actual quality and the ingredients.
It is a lesson in marketing which an Australian company learned to its cost. It had specially designed packaging to echo its perfectly organic ingredients and this did not appeal to the buying public who expected a more glamorous and sophisticated look. The launch of that particular product was a failure and it was back to the drawing board.
The buying public is fickle but you and I know that there are a lot of other factors which are much more important for our health and well being and they should be at the top of our list rather than the price and the packaging.
How savvy are you about what is actually in skincare products? Why do you think that there are groups like the Environmental Working Group, The Skin Deep Database and The Compact for Safe Cosmetics in existence? They are the watchdogs to protect our health and this means simply that many ingredients which are put into cheap skin products are a health risk and we should be much more cautious and on our guard. It is as simple as that!
Basically, mineral oils, petroleum jelly, parabens, ethyl. benzyl, sorpopyl, dioxane and triclosan are all on the black list. Unfortunately for us, there are thousands of others and we should really steer away from them and go for the companies who are signed up to The Compact for Safe Cosmetics which I have mentioned above. That is really your only guarantee against the cheap skin care products and the not so cheap ones which have flooded the market to-day.
